When a mom approached me with the idea of having a pumpkin themed birthday party for her twin girls’ second birthday, I jumped on the idea. What better theme could you choose the end of October? The starting point was a Christmas garland I found at Michaels. Love the colour scheme of orange, different shades of pink and teal as well as its texture.
Early on in the process I decided that it would be fun to collaborate with another creative who would take care of the graphic design elements of this party. Christina Wood of Sunshinetulipdesign was such a fabulous partner to work with on this project. I wanted to mainly use traditional fall decorations like pumpkins, bales of straw, and rustic materials such as dark woods. To give the party a bit of a modern twist, teal was the perfect colour choice.
Christina put together a wonderful poster that was used as part of the backdrop. Love the modern font and fun pattern she used. I added a bit of sparkle and ribbon to the pumpkins for good measure.
Christina also created a cute pumpkin and a TWO file that I could use to make cupcake toppers and to decorate bottles.
Used lots of wood and ceramic on the dessert table to create a cozy fall look. The party took place on the most beautiful fall day: blue skies together with sunshine and colourful leaves made for the perfect backdrop for this party.
